Route Description for Jupiter Mountain Loop Trail
For those adventurers who enjoy leg-burning trails with rough terrain and beautiful views, the Jupiter Mountain Loop Trail is the perfect option to explore. Don’t be fooled by the short overall distance, as this steep route has a fairly dicey descent that will certainly give you a run for your money!
Setting out from the trailhead, you will head to the south and gain some elevation, before following the trail as it turns west and climbs up the steep slope of the mountain. After arriving at the summit of Jupiter Mountain, you will enjoy some incredible views overlooking nearby peaks and the Bouquet Reservoir below.
From here, make your way to the northwest and descend into the saddle, where you can either choose to continue on to the west to summit nearby Juno Mountain or turn right to begin the descent. Be sure to take your time here, as you carefully descend the steep and rugged trail on the way back into the trailhead where you started the Jupiter Mountain Loop hike.
