Route Description for Fern Truck, Brown Mountain, and El Prieto Trail Loop
Whether you are looking for a moderately challenging workout route or simply want to experience the beauty of the mountains north of Altadena, California, the Fern Truck, Brown Mountain, and El Prieto Trail Loop is the perfect path to explore.
Setting out from the trailhead, you will make your way northeast for a short distance to meet up with Arroyo Seco Road. From here, you will follow the road northeast and into the canyon, before branching off to the right along the Fern Truck Trail.
Keeping to the left at the fork, you will begin climbing uphill into the mountains, where you will have an amazing sightline overlooking the city. After taking in the views, the route will loop around to the southeast and head back downhill along the El Prieto Trail, eventually delivering you back to the trailhead where you began your adventure.

The starting point for this hike can be found at the end of W Altadena Drive, near the intersection with Ridgeview Drive.Route Information
