Route Description for Cobb Estate to Switzer Station Hike
The hike from the Cobb Estate to Switzer Station is a great excursion if you are looking to test the limits of your physical fitness while taking in the rugged beauty of Southern California. Hikers should take note that this is a one-way trail, so be sure to arrange a pick up at the end of your hike as the trail is too long to make a return. Alternatively, you can turn this into a multi-day trek with an overnight stay at the Bear Canyon Campground or Switzer’s Trail Camp.
Setting out from the trailhead, you will make your way initially to the east through the Cobb Estate, before turning more to the northeast to climb uphill. Here, you will traverse the slopes of Echo Mountain and follow the trail as it turns to the northwest through the undulating terrain of the mountains.
After passing by the Bear Canyon Campground, you will be able to take in the natural beauty of the Switzer Falls along Arroyo Seco. From here, continue along the path as it leads through Switzer’s Trail Camp and into the endpoint of the route where your ride is hopefully waiting!
