Setting out from the trailhead, you will make your way to the northwest and into El Prieto Canyon, following along the banks of Arroyo Seco. Take some time to appreciate the beauty of the canyon setting, before eventually arriving at the Gould Mesa Trail Camp.
From here, you will continue north through the winding canyon, passing by the Paul Little Picnic Site before arriving at the Brown Mountain Dam Waterfall. Take a moment here to relax, before turning back along the trail to re-experience the natural beauty of the canyon on the return to the trailhead.
